Time for the second interview already! I had the chance to chat with our Community lady, the one everybody of us must thank for one reason or another. Are you an Xbox Live Ambassador? A GamerchiX? Did you just receive a shiny icon over at the Xbox.com forums or did you have your 15 minutes of celebrity in a gamer spotlight perharps? Get to know who you should thank.
Ladies and gents, please welcome Trixie!
Z: Can you introduce yourself?
T: I'm TriXie, the Community Editor for Xbox.com. My gamertag is trixie360.
Z: First things first.. I cannot avoid to ask “how did you choose your Xbox Live Gamertag”?
T: It was a pretty easy choice. I'm TriXie and I work on Xbox 360. And it rhymes. It's tattooed on my ankle, so I can never change my gamertag!
Z: So what is you job at Microsoft all about.. What does Trixie do all day in her office?
T: I deal with hundreds of emails, go to meetings, drink Diet Coke, listen to my zune, write articles, and plan fun stuff for the Xbox community.
Z: Yeah, the Community.. Are all the “programs” you manage at Xbox.com part of your work or is it something you do on your spare time?
T: The funny thing is that I get these bright ideas like Xbox All-Nighter, Family Game Night, Xbox Ambassadors and GamerchiX… And then I have to run them. Which means I often end up doing big projects like Ambassadors and GamerchiX on the weekends or late at night. I love them, but my boss has pointed out I need to stop making more work for myself ![]()
Z: Your boss is wrong! We love these things
So why and how did you come up with the GamerchiX program? Can you tell us a bit about GamerchiX?
T: GamerchiX is a social group for girls who like games. It came about because there were three trends that my friends DirtyDiva and PMS Kitty and I were seeing in the community: 1) female gamers were getting attention for their boobs, not their skills and were badmouthing each other. 2) women gamers were being harassed and intimidated when they played online. 3) casual gamers were made to feel as if they weren't "˜real' gamers. We started GamerchiX to give women who play ANY kind of game at ANY skill level a safe and fun place to play. And no one is allowed to talk trash - especially about each other. We are a very inclusive group of friendly and supportive women and girls. We welcome any woman who games (even if it's on PlayStation, Wii, DS or the PC) to join us. Send me an email at xlmail@microsoft.com!
Z: Same question, but I’d like to know about Xbox Live Ambassadors!
T: Xbox Ambassadors was an idea I had as a way to make sure that new Xbox Live members, or those just trying it out on a free weekend or with a trial account have a good experience. So I got volunteers from the community who are friendly and helpful. I have Ambassadors all around the world, so new folks can find someone in their area who speaks their language.
Z: What about gamer spotlights? How did those start?
T: It started back during the Xbox Live Beta. I had an idea to highlight interesting gamers and find out what they thought. It was a way of thanking them for their participation. I've been doing Gamer Spotlights for a long time. In fact my 200th Gamer Spotlight publishes on May 3.
Z: Cool, that’s quite an achievement! Time for my favorite… Video interviews! (or Vinterviews as I like to call them) I’ve enjoyed the ones with Major and E so much! Any more to come?![]()
T: Yes, DirtyDiva will be up next, and then probably the guys from Gamerscoreblog. I think it's fun to let the community ask the questions. I'm not really comfortable doing video yet… As you no doubt can tell. I'm a writer, and we're not used to being filmed (or judged on how we look!)
Z: What you’re talking about?! You did great with those two! Now, just a little about yourself.. How long have you been a gamer for?
T: Until I started working in the industry, I was a sporadic gamer. I liked pinball and airhockey more than Atari. But over the years I have enjoyed gaming more and more. I will never be an FPS kind of girl though. It just doesn't appeal to me. I play games to relax at the end of a long day"¦ Not to get shot at!
Z: How many consoles do you own? Which one do you play the most?
T: Let's see, I have Xbox, Xbox 360, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, and Wii. Oh and a pink DS Lite. I play 360 every day. I usually play my DS when I travel or am waiting in line. I really like the Wii. I've found a fun use for it is to watch YouTube videos on the big screen.
Z: Best game of all times?
T: Best game series of all time was King's Quest. I played the hell out of those games, even before I got my first game industry job at Sierra and met Ken and Roberta Williams. I hope that they'll come to XBL Arcade someday. I would never leave the house!

Z: Not sure how many knows it, but you were awarded the Community Member of the year Award by Gamertag Radio for 2006, correct? How did that come? Did you expect it?
T: Yes I was. I didn't expect it - I campaigned for it! Godfree made a rookie mistake and showed what the current vote count was. I saw that I was losing to Ben Ward at Bizarre and called out the big guns. I emailed my friends Bucketo and Jaken Bear at XCL and asked for their help. My dear friend Coola at Xbox365.com made a call for votes on his site and even put a picture of my butt on their homepage. So in the end I won
Even though I had to fight for it, it was an awesome feeling and something I'll always be proud of.
Z: You cheater! No, you would have won anyway, we all know
Can you describe your gaming setup?
T: I have a 40″ Samsung LCD HD TV with my launch 360 in the living room. In my bedroom I have a 37" LG HDTV that is just waiting for an Elite to come join it.
Z: What would you like to be doing in ten years?![]()
T: In ten years I would like to be living by the shores of Lake Como with my boytoy George Clooney and writing best-selling mystery novels. I also want to learn to play the violin.
Z: Really? Nice, I could help with the latter! But not with Clooney, sorry. What do you like the most about Xbox 360?
T: I was gonna say HD, but I loved it before I went hi-def. The Guide I think. It's brilliant that whatever I'm doing, whatever I'm playing I can bring up my messages, see who's online, set up a chat or swap out my music.
Z: Xbox Live?
T: The people. They are both the best and worst thing about Xbox Live. The jerks make life interesting, but the good people are just so amazingly wonderful.
Z: And what about the Xbox Community?
T: The sense of family. When ESDJ was shot in the head in January, the community posted about 30 pages of well-wishes to him. When people meet on Xbox Live and share their wedding or baby pictures. When folks who've only met online get together in real life for a weekend"¦. It's all so great. It gives me hope for the human race.
Z: Any other passions in your life?
T: Reading. I read all the time; both fiction and non-fiction.
Z: So happy reading, happing gaming and thanks for your time Trix!
T: Thanks Zaam!
